Plot
The game takes placy in a fantasy world of Silentia. The main character of the game is a young, sad circus-clown named Sadwick. The story starts as he wakes up in his travelling circus after having experienced a recurring nightmare.
Sadwick wanders off to a nrby forest and meets Bobby, a Chaski, messenger of the King. Bobby revls he is on his way to the Corona, the royal residence and castle, to deliver a powerful artefact, Whispering Stone, to the king. He claims the end of the world is nr and that the land is alrdy brking apart and that Asgil, hideous horde of underground crtures, are surrounding Corona. He tells Sadwick he has been unsuccessfully seeking an named Shana who may have advice on him shortening his trip, and asks Sadwick to help find her. Sadwick believes she could interpret his nightmares and convinces Bobby to give him the Whispering Stone to activate a secret passage that could ld him to Shana. Shortly after Bobby is attacked by Asgil and disapprs. Sadwick manages to loe Shana and finds out that his destiny is to destroy the world.
The game ftures a 2D scrolling viewport with parallax layers. The game is almost exclusively controlled by mouse. The player holds the left mouse button over objects or characters to bring up an interaction menu with "look", "talk", and "use" options. The player may hold the space bar to have the intractable portions of the world, such as objects, highlighted. This shows differently coloured indiors for objects, characters, and travel points.
Sadwick is accompanied by his pet erpillar Spot. He may tell Spot to perform certain actions. He crture can transform itself into several different forms useful for solving various puzzles. The forms are unlocked as the player progresses through the game.
The game also ftures an inventory screen accessed by right mouse button. Objects gathered from the world are stored in Sadwick's backpack. He may then use them in the world or with other items.
